Statement of work.
My work is currently influenced, though not exclusively, by my interest in the human form through life drawings.
I look for an interaction between paper and cloth using textile and fine art techniques. The fascinating textural qualities produced by manipulating, layering, painting and stitching the fabric and paper are endlessly explored.
Drawing the human figure has always preoccupied me, the studies are worked into with a variety of mediums afterwards or I draw on top of different media. These don’t always work, but by thinking on paper ideas emerge subconsciously.
Biography
I worked for over ten years as a fashion designer, and have been freelance as an artist ever since. I have exhibited and sold my work nationally on a regular basis, and have completed commissions for wall pieces
